Micah Bruce is a luthier and craftsman based in Omaha, Nebraska who builds electric & acoustic guitars as well as mandolins and ukuleles.Bruce's experience spans nearly two decades, including roles at Dietze Music, Bill Collings, John Allison, and Moniker Guitars before starting his own business in 2017. After years in Austin, TX, he returned to Omaha with his family in 2017. Now, he balances his thriving career with family life, including his wife and four daughters, two of whom are twins born in 2020. Originally calling his company "Bruce & Sons" to reflect this lineage, he rebranded to "Bruce Guitars" in 2022.
His style blends modern design with vintage sensibilities. Bruce enjoys building custom instruments for clients and recreating classic vintage guitars while giving them a fresh twist. He believes in honoring traditional methods like hot hide glue and classic finishes, but also embraces modern techniques, such as using CNC machines and incorporating carbon fiber in necks. He prefers modified mortise-and-tenon neck joints over traditional dovetail joints for their practicality and tonal quality.
